QMortgage
is a packaged BI application built using Oracle's
Business Intelligence Beans and the OLAP Option
to Oracle Database 10g. Built on Oracle technology
but available for deployment on any standards-based
J2EE application server, QMortgage takes the components
within Oracle's business intelligence framework
and delivers a vertical analytic solution that
is quick to deploy, economical to license yet
leverages the industrial-strength capabilities
of the Oracle platform.
Like most industries, the
mortgage banking market is a highly competitive
market with over 2,000 US banks and over 20,000
US mortgage brokers, who process tens of millions
to several billion dollars a month in loan funding,
depending on the bank size. With the refinance
boom ending as interest rates increase, most mortgage
banks face a declining number of loan applications
and therefore need to look for new ways of increasing
profit, reducing expense, and increasing efficiency.
QDecisions
believes in "Buy
and Extend". Implement the out of
the box product in 90 days, and customize the
remaining 20%. It's faster, cheaper, and delivers
what you need to run the business more effectively.
For those customers who do not want to manage
their own installation, QDecisions
can host the application in our Tier 1 data center,
providing secure data transfer and reliability
for a predictable monthly cost.
QMortgage
uses the OLAP Option to Oracle Database 10g as
its analytic engine. The OLAP Option is a fully-functional
OLAP server embedded directly within the Oracle
RDBMS, that can be thought of as a "high-performance
decision support engine" that complements
and extends the existing analytical capabilities
of the Oracle database. It provides a dimensional
model over your data, multidimensional datatypes
and calculations, extensions to SQL and a Java
OLAP API that are used by QMortgage
to provide ad-hoc analysis and a KPI dashboard.
QMortgage uses an extensible
security model based on J2EE standards and the
Java Authentication and Authorization Service
(JAAS). Sign on
to the web application can be authenticated against
a number of standard directories (eg LDAP, AD)
.
All of
these components and applications built Oracle's business intelligence
components but can in fact be deployed on any standards-compliant
J2EE application server, giving customers the
ability to deploy QMortgage in the environment
of their choice.
